Engides Engineering Joins Forces with Kairobot AI and What AI Services

A new partnership bringing AI-augmented voice intake, intelligent search, and AI services infrastructure to a national PE firm — and what it means for the architects, GCs, and developers we work with.

Engides Engineering now works alongside two sister companies — Kairobot AI and What AI Services — to build AI capability directly into how an engineering engagement runs. The engineering itself has not changed: licensed Professional Engineers scope, design, calculate, and seal every drawing, and they remain accountable for every line on the page. What changes is everything around that work — how a project comes in, how information is found, and how the pieces stay connected from the first call to the final permit set.

AI-Augmented Voice Intake

Most engineering projects start as a conversation, not a drawing set. A contractor describes a tenant improvement over the phone; a developer talks through a site they are evaluating. The details an engineer needs — building type, square footage, jurisdiction, deadline — used to wait on someone typing them into a form before scoping could even start. Voice intake tooling structures that conversation as it happens, so the parameters behind a scope and fee are captured completely and consistently instead of depending on somebody's handwritten notes. The engineer still asks the follow-up questions that matter. The intake just stops losing information on the way in.

Intelligent Search Capabilities

An engineering practice runs on retrieved knowledge: the code edition a given city has adopted, the local amendment that changed a requirement last cycle, the detail that worked on the last similar building. Intelligent search across adopted codes, amendments, and project history turns those lookups from scavenger hunts into minutes — with the engineer verifying every citation before it goes into a set. For the architects, GCs, and developers we work with, the effect is simple: answers come back grounded in the actual requirement, not in a recollection of it.

AI Services Infrastructure

Behind the visible tools sits shared infrastructure: the systems that route an inquiry to the right discipline, keep project documents organized across MEP, structural, and civil, and make sure a client gets the same organized experience in any of the 49 states we serve. That is what lets a national practice operate as one firm instead of a patchwork of inboxes. It also scales the unglamorous parts — file handling, status tracking, deadline awareness — without scaling the overhead a client ultimately pays for.

None of this changes what a client is buying. You are buying licensed engineering judgment, a coordinated permit-ready set, and a team that answers for its work. The collaboration with Kairobot AI and What AI Services exists to protect the hours that judgment requires — by making sure the information around it is captured, findable, and connected. If you have a project coming up, send it over. The conversation starts the way it always has. It just reaches an engineer faster.
